well well well… if it isn’t chicago.
i know it feels like i was JUST in chicago for that whirlwind wedding weekend back in march.  now i’m back for business this time around.  i’m coming into town on thursday and heading out sunday for a video shoot.
now, here’s where things get interesting.  it just so happens that this weekend in chicago is the pitchfork music festival.  it also just so happens that i’ve stumbled upon a free 3-day pass.
so, in the downtime, i will be making my way over to check out bands and hang out with chicago’s finest skinny-jean-wearing hipsters.  on my short list:  beach house, best coast, lcd soundsystem, broken social scene, delorean, free energy, and local natives.  plus, a ton more that i’m not as familiar with that i’m anxious to see for the first time.
unfortunately, i’ll have to skip town before getting to see sleigh bells or pavement, but i’m still just amazed i can go period.
i think i’m the only person, other than employees of pitchfork.com and the indie blogosphere who somehow managed to work the pitchfork festival into a business trip.
so, chicago.  here i come.  if anyone’s looking to hang out, grab lunch, or have an awkard first-time meetup at the pitchfork festival, holler at me!
