CHICAGO!
man, what a trip.
sorry for being an absentee blogger, but there just wasn’t enough time for blogging.  on thursday night, i departed from richmond for a 4-day whirlwind trip to chicago for lauren’s cousin’s wedding.  i met a ton of lauren’s family, saw chicago’s finest tourist attractions, and ate and drank way more than i should have.
on friday, our first full day in the city, we ventured out to millennium park and the navy pier.  saturday started out with a boat tour of chicago’s skyscrapers, then off to gino’s east for deep dish pizza, then the main event - the wedding.  the wedding was absolutely perfect.  it was my first ever jewish wedding and it was fun to watch and partake in the traditions.  i definitely danced like crazy, did a shot with lauren and her dad (whoa!), and fought every urge to jump on stage and join the wedding band during their rendition of justin timberlake’s “sexyback”.
up until this point, with very few exceptions, lauren and i were venturing out with her entire family in tow.  we made for quite the crew.  on sunday, however, most of the family flew out earlier, leaving lauren and i some precious time to explore chicago on our own.  as cheesy as it may be, we wanted to go to the top of sears tower, so we went and took in the amazing views.. and also risked our lives on the skydeck glass observation areas, where you literally walk out onto glass and look down 103 floors to the street below.
we made our way to the airport in the afternoon and said our goodbyes after hanging out in the exciting airport food court.  airport goodbyes are somehow always way worse than any other type of goodbye, but we had planes to catch, so at 6:40 i was airborne and heading back to richmond.
i stayed up till 2:00am last night pouring through photos, all of which can be found by clicking the photo above.  it was such an amazing trip and i was so happy that i could share in the event and the weekend with lauren’s family.
next time i’ll just have to remember to blog while i’m there.
