file under: super cool shit happening right here in richmond, va.
so, several months ago, some people from my agency and two other local companies, mondial creative labs and the branching films, submitted a film for the richmond 48-hour film festival. for those unfamiliar, you basically form a team and have 48 hours from start to finish to create a short film. it’s an insane process and the end results are pretty awesome to see.
several friends of mine participated, making me wish i’d done it too. the mondial team went on to win in richmond and was entered into an international competition, where they had another 48 hours to create a short film about the end of the world.
a little overwhelming, right?
well, they made an amazing film AND just found out that it was selected to be shown at cannes film festival this year. this is a huge deal!
a film shot by friends i know, people i work with, filmed in the city i live in, with music from bands that live here. this is the kind of thing that makes me stoked to live in such an awesome city.
richmond, i love ya. even post-apocalyptic richmond.
