in a few short days, i will be the proud new owner of a nikon d90.
i’ve been weighing the move for months.  ever since my trip to iceland, where i borrowed a friend’s DSLR, i’ve been contemplating a move like this.  having a nice camera to capture photos from that trip is something that i’m so glad i was able to do.  since it’s obviously an investment, i agonized for a while about what kind of camera i wanted and what features were must-haves.
i was inspired in a big way by my friend karen who takes stunningly amazing photos and videos and has a true talent for capturing moments with me and my friends.  i don’t aspire to be a pro photographer like she does, but if i can be 1/10th as good as her, i’ll consider myself a success.  she was a huge help in figuring out what lens to start out with and other pre-purchase details.
with so many trips coming up, i’m glad i don’t have to worry about trying to borrow another DSLR or making do with my old point-and-click.
now i just have to find a large bucket of ice water to cool down my white-hot credit card.  yikes.
