Last night was a really fun time.  I had the honor of DJing Richmond’s latest Tumblr meetup.  Ever since Tumblr opened up an office here in Richmond, the meetups have taken quite the interesting turn.  Lots and lots of people attend - students, advertising people, job seekers, entrepreneurs, etc.  I attended the very first Tumblr meetup about a year ago and there were about six of us standing there awkwardly.  It’s awesome to see things grow like this.
Founder David Karp was at the event, along with the local Tumblr team.  Sadly, since I spent a lot of the time DJing, I wasn’t able to talk too much with anyone from Tumblr, but it was still a great time.  I met a lot of new interesting people and was really happy to see a lot of friends come out as well.
With things like VCU’s recent success on the basketball court and Tumblr’s increased presence here in town, I can’t help but get excited about the way things are growing here in Richmond.  Those of us living here have always known it was an amazing cool place and it seems like more people are figuring that out.  As long as EVERYONE doesn’t find out, I think it’s definitely a good thing.
To anyone I met/talked to/hung out with last night, thanks!  You’re awesome!
