things that happened in the past few weeks that make me concerned for the state of my state:

1.  newly-elected governor bob mcdonnell quietly roles back non-discrimination protections for gay state workers.

2.  the state house passed several bills relaxing gun control laws (since bob mcdonnell isn’t vetoing any of them) including laws that eliminate virginia’s one-gun-a-month restriction and also passing a law that allows concealed weapons in bars.

3.  the virginia state attorney general, with the support of bob mcdonnell is challenging obama on the issue of whether global warming exists.

having tim kaine as our governor was so nice because i forgot the rampant right-wing ignorance that plagues our state.  looks like we’re back in action!  woooo!
