today was beyond perfect. i visited five record stores in two cities, dropping off copies of the new SEAS album. such a thrill to finally have this record go out into the world. but that’s a whole other blog post.
while i was in the record stores, i couldn’t resist buying a few things. i picked up a copy of one of my favorite low albums “things we lost in the fire” and this collaboration between michael hurley (aka snock) and my favorite band ida. ida plays the backing band to michael’s ramblin’ folk troubador style songs. he’s an old soul and his voice makes a nice fit with ida as the backing band.
i wasn’t sure what to expect. in lieu of a new ida record, this will have to do in the meantime.
i’m relaxing at my parent’s house, after everyone’s gone to bed, just listening to this record and feeling really content and happy. today was a really good day.
