Once upon a time not too long ago, my life goal was to be a touring musician, making my living playing music.  I knew it was a longshot when I started out, but I think if you really believe in something, you have to at least try.  So I did.  And I worked really hard and accomplished things I never imagined I’d do.  But ultimately, I couldn’t make a living.  99% of all musicians will experience this or already have, so I wasn’t particularly disappointed.  We gave it a good run.

So in the past year or two, I’ve been revising the life goal.  I love the career I’m in now and I’d like to continue to grow in it.  I think in 20-30 years, I’d like to be making a good living, working for a company or client I’m passionate about.  I’d like to live near some mountains and maybe a creek.  I’d like to be married, probably with kids in an old house that we refurbished.  I’d like to live a balanced life.  I’d like music to always be part of my life in some capacity, so I’m sure I’ll be singing in some weird grown-up old person band that plays at VFW halls.

Of course, all life goals are subject to change, but I think this is a pretty good start.
