so i’m heading to vegas in the morning for a wedding.

i’m pretty excited about it.  back in the day, olympia would pass through vegas on tour, but this will be my first time spending more than one night in this insane city.

i have set aside money to gamble, but i really have no clue what i’m doing.  i’d like to think i could hold my own at blackjack, but actually sitting down to a table and gambling is pretty intimidating for me.  maybe there’s a jr. gamblers table where i can learn how to not feel like an idiot.  or, alternatively, i could just put all my money on the roulette table and get it over with in one fell swoop.  my odds are about the same, right?

on the unfortunate side, this cold i can’t seem to shake reared its ugly head again this morning and i’m feeling worse than usual.  i need to make sure i rest up tonight so that i’m not hacking and sniffling the whole weekend in vegas.  i have a feeling i’ll be pushing the envelope in the lack of sleep and alcohol departments, so i need to take it easy when i can.

one thing i am excited about on a total nerd level is to utilize foursquare while i’m in vegas.  i was poking around a few of the casinos on foursquare and there’s a lot of really great tips from people about what tables to play and where to get discounted chips and how to find cheap tickets to shows, etc.  it’s a part of foursquare that i don’t really utilize that much here in richmond and i think it will be very helpful in a city i’m not too familiar with.

plus, i’m not leaving vegas until i’m the mayor of the hotel we’re staying at.  mark my words.
