i am a lucky person.

i’m lucky enough that one of my favorite bands happens to consist of several of my friends.  you might say to yourself, “phil has an inflated sense of adoration for this band because of his affinity for its individual members”, to which i would reply that you’re totally wrong.

i would love this band even if they were total strangers.  nay, even if they were total a-holes.  they’re that good.

so anyway, this band is called the riot before.  and their singer brett, who also has an amazing tumblr blog, is someone i am proud to call a close friend.

i have a long-standing tradition of getting drunk and standing right up front and singing loudly whenever this band plays a show in richmond.  this tradition has earned me a hallowed place in each of their music videos.  i was fortunate enough that this tradition continued in their latest video above.

it looks so good.  way to go, dudes.  proud of ya.

it’s been officially three years since i hung up the touring life.  living vicariously through their adventures makes me really happy.  they’re currently touring europe, so if you live over there - go see a show.  if you live over here, go buy their record.. or just watch this video 100 times.
