myvatn nature baths part 2

after a ridiculous day of driving through blizzard conditions, hiking in the snow, and generally being way too cold, we decided another trip to the myvatn nature baths was in order.

the weather was perfect this time around.  it was cold, but not too windy, so the water was nice and hot.  it was pure heaven.

we met a couple at the baths, the girl was from australia and the guy was from london.  it was SO AMAZING to finally meet people who spoke english fluently.  all the people we’ve met thus far have been foreigners and i end up tripping over every word thinking about how to speak more clearly.  we talked for a while and they were super nice.  they were sorta stranded here, opting to use the bus for transportation - which runs on a very limited schedule in the winter.  we offered to give them a ride to the next big city tomorrow, so we’ll see if they take us up on the offer.

tomorrow we drive to akureyri, iceland’s second largest city.  then it’s off to go find some seals, chill in more geothermal pools, and try to see the northern lights one last time.

g’night blog!
