best birthday party EVERRR
oh man, words cannot describe how amazing saturday night’s birthday dance party was.
i’m posting this super handsome photo of me DJing, because in a few minutes i’m about to post a bunch of photos of me looking awful and sweaty.  damage control.
so, before the dance party even started, i had the most delicious dinner at brett’s house.  we made these crazy gourmet hamburgers with blue cheese and caramelized onions and sundried tomatoes and brett’s homemade buns.  shit was mind-blowing.
after a hearty meal, we headed over to cous cous to unleash the dance party.  the crowd started filling in early, which was awesome.  kenny unleashed an all-vinyl set that got the crowd warmed up.  i DJed a 45-minute set and had a blast.  it was all music that i wanted to hear, so i was loving it.  i felt bad for people who made requests, because i literally had nothing but the exact songs i wanted to play.  no time for requests!
after my set, we unleashed the “phil’s 29th b-day jammer” ipod playlist.  it was 75 minutes of pure dance party fury and it left total destruction in its wake.  we had an amazing kanye/taylor swift/beyonce moment that you had to have been there for to truly appreciate.  then we closed out the night with “i’ve had the time of my life” from dirty dancing.  shit was CRAZY.
there were a few points in the evening when i stopped dancing to look around and literally everywhere i looked were friends.  it’s hard not to feel loved when there’s a room full of people you care about who are there to see you and hang out with you.  wall-to-wall friends in a bar that i love playing music that i love and dancing all night.  i cannot imagine a better way to turn 29.
