happy birthday grandson

so, let me start out by saying that i love my mom.  she’s an amazing woman and she’s very grounded and even-keeled and practical.  whenever i have drama or doubts in my life, she is the absolute BEST person to talk to.  however, sometimes she can be practical to a fault.

to provide a little backstory, my grandmother passed away about a year and a half ago.  my mom’s mother.  my mom was instrumental in coordinating all the funeral arrangements, her mother’s will and estate, and the actual act of selling/distributing/giving away all her belongings.

so i get a card in the mail today for my birthday and at the top of the card it says “dear grandson” and the word “grand” is crossed out.  inside the card, my mom writes “LOL - I’m determined to use up grandma’s old greeting card collection!”

my mom sent me a birthday card from my dead grandmother.

i have been cracking up over it for the last 20 minutes.

i’m also cracking up that my mom wrote “LOL”.

of course, the person who would probably find this all the most hilarious is my grandmother.  miss you grandma!  thanks for the birthday card!
