sorry about the general lack of updates lately, blogreaders.

it’s been a busy week full of BOOZING.  okay, not really..  but kinda.  monday and tuesday night found me drinking beers on the company dime at various work events.  tonight i’m off to celebrate the birthday of my buddy adam.  tomorrow the lovely ladies of cherry bomb are djing a party for RVA magazine.  and then, of course, this weekend.. don’t get me started on the epicness of BEST FRIENDS DAY (more on this later).  we’ll be getting awesome all day at hadad’s and then off to cous cous for the one-year anniversary party of my DJ night 240 minutes.  so yeah.  i will maybe need to detox afterwards.

on top of all this beer-drinking, i am keeping quite busy with the various other aspects of my life.  iceland planning is in full effect as i’ve just completed booking our driving tour of the ring road and our various stays across the country.  my hiking boots arrived in the mail yesterday.  i’ve got a few more things to plan and buy, but for the most part - now i’m just sitting and waiting.  36 more days!  i’m trying my absolute hardest to not be that person who only talks about their upcoming vacation to everyone they bump into..  but i’m finding myself being that asshole.  so, to all my friends, a sincere apology.  i really just need to get this out of my system.  we can talk about normal shit in october when i get back.

the label is also moving along smoothly.  the SEAS record is nearing completion and we’re weeks away from having a completed mastered album with artwork.  i’m so damn excited i can hardly stand it.  once this thing goes into production, the real work begins and i’ll be a promotional machine, getting promo copies mailed out and begging people for interviews/articles/reviews.  it’ll be like the old days.

if that wasn’t enough to stress about, i’ve decided i’m planning/DJing my own birthday party.  there are the kinds of people who like to have everything done for them on their birthday.  not me.  fuck that.  i want complete control over everything.  everyone’s like “phil, why do you want to DJ your own party?”  because i want it to be TOTALLY AWESOME!  so keep your eyes out for a flyer, because that will be here before you know it!
