today is my first day in the new office.

things have been going really great at my agency over the past year and we’re growing by leaps and bounds.  one of the negative sides of all that growth, however, is that there’s no longer room in the building for everyone.

we’ve known we were going to move for a long time, so it wasn’t a surprise, but it was still a little bittersweet to leave our home in the building and go to a building a block away.  especially since that building is a 22-story building filled with bankers, lawyers, and other corporate types.  not to knock someone else’s profession, but i was really worried that our new space would feel stuffy and corporate and bland.

fortunately, it’s not like that at all.  we have the whole floor to ourselves and the space is amazing.  we have the freedom and flexibility to be as loud, creative, and silly as we want.  i don’t have to feel weird about having a nerf gun at my desk.

so, my office specifically happens to be located in the most perfect spot.  i couldn’t have landed a better space if i’d paid someone off.  i have a view of the river all the way down to rockett’s landing and more space than i know what to do with.  it’s definitely the coolest space i’ve ever worked in yet in my career.   that’s a good sign, right?

the view is absolutely incredible.  unfortunately, it’s a shitty foggy rainy day out and i can’t really capture it properly, but it’s definitely going to be an adjustment to keep from staring out the window all day instead of doing work.

here’s to a fresh start and a new space!
