they say that love isn’t something you feel, it’s something you do. in that case, today love is me hiding out in an upstairs bedroom at lauren’s parents’ house while 30 ladies descend to eat chicken salad sandwiches, open gifts, and play baby shower games. it’s a little hard to explain, but there were two baby showers this weekend.  the one last night involved bratwurst, greyhounds, a bonfire, and having an all-around great time.  however, today’s event is for ladies only and in my brief time spent downstairs, it also involves A LOT of pink. i had a feeling this weekend would prove to be crazy stressful for lauren, and it definitely has, and so knowing that i could be here for her to help her navigate the craziness, lift heavy objects, and reach tall things - it’s felt really good to help out.  it’s not our typical weekend together, but we have plenty of those ahead. so for now, i’m hiding and playing on the internet in an upstairs bedroom.  i just wish i had another greyhound!
